Gallery Walk
Friday August 29th, 2008
5:p.m. ~ 8:p.m.
The Wild Eye will feature two outstanding local artists for the
August 29th Last Friday Gallery Walk, Paul Koentges and Pat
Perry.
Born in Bruges,
Belgium, Paul Koentges
has lived in Colorado
since 1966. ”Art has always been my avocation” Paul says. Being skilled in many mediums, his
oil paintings are breathtaking. Influenced by European and Russian
impressionists, he captures his experience of our beautiful surroundings
with his distinct representational style to define colorful exquisite
paintings. Paul enjoys painting ”en Plein air” but also works from
his Evergreen studio. Paul is an active supporter of the local artist
community, serving on both the Center for the Arts, Evergreen Board of
Director and the Evergreen Artist Association Board of Director. His
work is a must see and desired by the most discriminating collector.
Pat Perry has always been
intrigued by glass and after taking classes that limited her talent, she
bought her own kiln to “do my own thing” she says. Although she leans toward
contemporary art, Pat is taken with the cowboy. The cowboy represents
high integrity, moral fiber, and love of God, and she believes the cowboy
to be the embodiment of the “last American Hero”.
Therefore the land, animals and cowboys have become the focal point
of a much of her art. Mostly done in crushed glass, Pat forms the figures
and animals in the wild as she has experienced them. From farm and
ranch hands working their trade to the Colorado Mountains
filled with wonder and beauty, her glass pieces are magnificent.
Please
do not miss the opportunity to meet these fine artists and listen to the
Country music of Sulphur Spur during the Last Friday Gallery Walk on August
29th from 5:00-8:00 at the Wild Eye Gallery.
