Frank Mittelstadt was born in 1956 at Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Frank graduated
from Madison Area Technical College in 1978 with an associate degree
in Commercial Art. He reports, "Whether working in oils, acrylics,
pastels or pencil, my deep reverence and respect for the natural world
always surfaces in my art." Frank's work can be found in numerous
private and corporate collections throughout America as well as on many
series of collector plates by the Bradford Exchange.

- 1999 Wisconsin Ducks Unlimited Sponsor Artist
- "Birds in Art" exhibition at Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum,
1991 & 1993.
- "Arts for the Parks Top 100" National Park Academy of the
Arts, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, 1989, 1990, 1993 & 1998.
- Winner - 1999 and 1993 Wisconsin Duck Stamp Competition.
- Winner - 1992 Wisconsin Inland Trout Stamp Contest.
- Winner - 1992 Wisconsin Great Lakes Salmon and Trout Stamp Contest.
- Top ten in the Federal Duck Stamp Contest 1992, 1995 & 1998.
- Artist of the Year for Wings Over Wisconsin in 1994 and 1996
- Judge's Award of Excellence - 1995 Minnesota Heritage Art Show
