Carol was born and raised in Ft Worth Tex.
Married Tom in 1969 and went to California where Tom and I both went to Art Center College of Design.
She graduated from there in 1972 with a BFA majoring in illustration. I immediately started illustrating kids books, and have been a freelance illustrator ever since.she has illustrated well over a hundred books and worked for every major publisher. The books have included paper back young adult novels, picture books, and a lot of educational material. At the present she is working on two picture books. One is about a family who adopts a pug, and the other is a Christmas book, about Santa on Christmas Eve. The most recently published book is one for Smithsonian, called Give my Regards to Broadway.
Having grown up in Texas, I feel that I'm on a vacation all the time in Colorado. We moved here in 1981 and have loved every minute of it.
Most of the book work I've done is in watercolor. Recently, within the past five years, I've started painting landscapes and wildlife, using the years of watercolor experience that I have. I have found a new passion in doing these scenes of the places I love in Colorado.
Carol's husband Tom is also a freelance illustrator and specializes in Santas and Christmas but also does Celestial Seasonings boxes and some kids books, as well. We have two boys, ages 30 and 33 who are also artists.
They also graduated Art Center College of Design.
Carol is a skier and bicycler (two time National Champion Cross country Mt biker) and still devote a lot of my time in the summer to racing mt bikes, but I'm getting pretty old for that, so this will probably be my last year for racing.
