Carol was born and raised in Ft Worth Texas.

She married Tom in 1969 and went to California where they both went to Art Center College of Design. They have two sons, both artists, who, recently, also graduated from the same college.
She graduated from there in 1972 with a BFA majoring in illustration,  immediately started illustrating kids books, and has been a freelance illustrator ever since. Carol has illustrated well over a hundred books (she thinks close to 150!) and worked for every major publisher. The books have included paperback young- adult novels, picture books, and a lot of educational material. At the present Carol is working on two picture books. One is about a family who adopts a pug, and the other is a Christmas book, about Santa on Christmas Eve. The most recently published book is one for Smithsonian, called Give my Regards to Broadway.

Most of the book work Carol has done is in watercolor. Recently, within the past five years, she started painting landscapes and wildlife, using the years of watercolor experience that she has.
Carol states “I have found a new passion in doing these scenes of the places I love in Colorado”.

Other than art, Carol is a skier and bicycler (two time National Champion Cross country Mt biker) and still devotes a lot of her time in the summer to racing mountain bikes.

Carol is a skier and bicycler (two time National Champion Cross country Mt biker) and still devote a lot of my time in the summer to racing mt bikes, but I'm getting pretty old for that, so this will probably be my last year for racing.
