Originally from England , Paul has been a Colorado resident for almost 7 years.
A self taught Artist, many early works were centered around motorcycles, capturing the chrome and polished steel of 1970’s era British and Italian Motorcycles, reproduced in heavy overworked pencil sketches.
This passion led to a career in video working as a “high speed” cameraman... armed with a bullet camera and backpack recorder chasing other bike lovers around the world class race tracks in England and producing a rare film riding the Isle Of Man TT course.. a 37 mile road racing circuit, known as the most dangerous track in the world. Promotional film used by SuperBike Magazine(The Motorcycle Show, National Exhibition Center Birmingham , & Crystal Palace , London ) This particular film has sold many copies and was used by Birmingham Police ( uk ) as an instructional video for safe, high speed bike control .
Moving away from the Race tracks, video became the medium for producing ‘hip hop’ video backdrops for dance clubs and events, creating imagery on video and remixing it repeatedly to create abstract moving pictures.This gave the opportunity to film Nigel Kennedy (world class violin soloist) and mix live film with pre-recorded video imagery projected out to a crowd of 3500 at England ’s annual Big Green Gathering.. a green living awareness festival.
The landscapes around evergreen and in the Rocky Mountains were an immediate inspiration to pick up life as an Artist again and re-capture the lost spirit from childhood. Today , painting in oils, Paul enjoys the plein air opportunities that are abundant in Colorado – “where the colours speak out to you…..”.
